
Bhilwara (Rajasthan): A heartbreaking incident has been reported from Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, where four people, including a woman, lost their lives after allegedly consuming dishwashing liquid, mistaking it for alcohol. The tragic घटना took place in Aloli village under the Gangapur police station area.
According to preliminary information, the victims had recently worked at a wedding function, where they were engaged in washing utensils on a contract basis. After the ceremony concluded, they reportedly brought home the utensil-cleaning liquid used during the event. Later, assuming it to be liquor, they consumed it.
Soon after drinking the liquid, their health deteriorated rapidly. Three of them were rushed to the Gangapur hospital late at night, where they died during treatment. The fourth victim, a woman in critical condition, was referred to the Bhilwara District Hospital, where she also succumbed during treatment.
The police have kept three bodies in the mortuary at Gangapur Hospital, while the post-mortem of one body is being conducted at the Bhilwara District Hospital. An investigation is currently underway to determine how the liquid was brought home and under what circumstances it was consumed.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the District Collector and Superintendent of Police reached the spot and reviewed the situation, issuing necessary instructions to the concerned authorities.
The deceased have been identified as Ratan (son of Masariya Kanjar, resident of Madhopur), Sushila Devi, Jamni Devi (wife of Shankar Kanjar), and Badami Devi Kanjar.
The incident has left the entire village in deep mourning, and a wave of grief has spread across the region. Police officials are continuing their investigation to establish the complete facts behind this tragic.
