Tiger News: A serious threat looms over the safety of tigers at the world-famous Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, as the fourth tiger has died under suspicious circumstances in the past 20 days. Another Loss at Bandhavgarh
Umaria: The renowned Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Umaria district appears to have become a graveyard for tigers. The death of a fourth tiger in just 20 days has sent shockwaves through wildlife enthusiasts. Upon receiving the news on Tuesday, the forest department team immediately rushed to the site and initiated necessary procedures according to standard operating protocols.

Dog Squad Conducted Area Search
Dr. Anupam Sahay, Area Director of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, stated that the forest staff immediately reached the site after the report of the death. The area was thoroughly searched with the help of the dog squad. The deceased tigress was approximately five years old. The carcass was found about 250 meters from PF-342 in the Manpur Buffer Zone, within the private revenue area of Gram Guruvahi.

Preliminary Investigation Suggests Conflict
Initial investigation indicates that the death may have resulted from conflict with another tiger. Senior officials were promptly informed, and all procedures were carried out under the directives of the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau and the National Tiger Conservation Authority. A site inspection was conducted, and metal detectors were used to secure the area.

Post-Mortem Conducted
A detailed post-mortem examination was performed in the presence of qualified wildlife veterinarians, and necessary samples were collected and sent to an authorized laboratory for testing. After completing formalities, the carcass was cremated. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report.

Rising Concern Over Consecutive Deaths
In just 20 days, four tigers have died in the reserve. If such fatalities continue and the same level of administrative negligence persists, it may not be long before Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, once renowned for its tiger density, is remembered only in books.
