Alwar, Rajasthan: Former Cabinet Minister and two-time MLA from Thanagazi, Hem Singh Bhadana, passed away on Monday morning after a prolonged battle with cancer. Known for his straightforwardness and close connection with the public, Bhadana remained actively engaged with people despite his illness until his final days. His death at around 7 AM in a private hospital has sent waves of grief across Alwar and the broader political landscape of Rajasthan.
From Student Politics to Cabinet Minister
Bhadana’s political journey began in student politics, where he built a strong rapport with young voters. His dedication and grassroots work earned him two consecutive wins from the Thanagazi assembly constituency on a BJP ticket. Recognized for his active role in the Vasundhara Raje-led government, he was first appointed as a State Minister and later promoted to Cabinet Minister.
A Leader with Deep Roots in Thanagazi
Despite residing in Alwar city, Bhadana’s heart remained with the people of Thanagazi. Constituents recall his daily visits to villages across the region even while serving as a minister. Remarkably, even after his cancer diagnosis, he continued meeting people and attending to their concerns, showing unwavering commitment to his constituency.
Family Background and Political Legacy
Originally from Bagheri village in Kishangarhbas, Bhadana resided in Veer Savarkar Nagar, Alwar. Among his two sons, one manages the family business while the other, Surendra Bhadana, is continuing his father’s political legacy. Although Surendra narrowly lost the 2023 elections, the Bhadana family continues to hold significant influence in the region.
Bhadana’s last rites will be conducted today, and the Rajasthan BJP has postponed all official programs in his honor. His passing is not only a profound loss for the party but also for the people of Thanagazi, who remember him as a leader deeply committed to their welfare.
