
Gwalior, Jan 30, 2026: Dense fog in Gwalior led to a fatal accident on National Highway-719 on Friday morning, claiming the lives of four people. A speeding truck collided head-on with an oncoming car near the Barotha Toll Plaza. The force of the impact completely wrecked the car, leaving all four occupants dead at the scene.
According to police reports, the car was traveling from Bhind towards Gwalior when the truck, heading in the opposite direction, crashed into it. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, causing chaos on the highway.
Traffic Disruption and Emergency Response
The collision resulted in a long traffic jam at the site. Police teams rushed to the scene, cleared the traffic, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Three of the deceased have been identified as Rahul Sharma, Jyoti Yadav, and Raju Prajapati, while one victim is yet to be identified. Families of the deceased have been informed and are arriving at the hospital.
Authorities have secured the area and moved the truck to the roadside, allowing normal traffic flow to resume. Investigations into the accident are ongoing, with preliminary reports indicating that the dense fog significantly contributed to the crash.
