Fatehpur “Love Jihad” Case: Accused Muslim Man Poses as Hindu, Exploits Young Woman for 6 Years

Fatehpur, UP: A shocking case of “love jihad” has emerged from Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, where a Muslim man allegedly deceived a Hindu woman by posing as a Hindu, lured her into a trap, and sexually exploited her for six years. The accused, Adnan Ansari, used the alias “Vishal” to gain her trust, promised marriage, and allegedly administered intoxicating substances to commit repeated sexual assault. He also reportedly recorded obscene videos and blackmailed the victim to continue the abuse.

How It Began
The victim, a resident of Sadar Kotwali area, recounted that in 2019 she met Adnan Ansari at the railway station while waiting for a train to Pune with her mother. At that time, Adnan, who is employed as an outsourced ticket booking clerk in Prayagraj, obtained her mobile number under the pretext of offering future help. Subsequent phone calls and WhatsApp chats developed between them.

Deception and Exploitation
Posing as a Hindu named Vishal, Adnan expressed his intention to marry the victim. When the victim suggested involving her family, he allegedly invited her to a hotel in Bakarganj, Sadar Kotwali, where he spiked her food with intoxicating substances and sexually assaulted her. He also recorded obscene videos and threatened to make them public on social media if she reported him, continuing the abuse for six years.

Marriage Denial and Legal Action
When the victim’s family approached Adnan to discuss marriage, he allegedly refused and involved his sister and another man, Randhir Singh, to dismiss the marriage proposal. Facing extreme mental distress, the victim finally filed a complaint with Sadar Kotwali Police.

Accused Arrested
SHO Tarkeshwar Rai stated that the accused has been arrested under relevant sections of the law near Lodhiganj Bridge in the city. The victim was sent for medical examination, and the accused was presented before the court, which remanded him to police custody and subsequently sent him to jail.
