Fatehpur: In a major action against illegal assets, the Fatehpur administration has seized properties worth over ₹5.15 crore belonging to close associates of Samajwadi Party leader and gangster Haji Raza Mohammad. The move, carried out on the orders of the District Magistrate (DM), targeted plots and land registered in the names of Raza’s councillors, drivers, and domestic staff. The action has sent shockwaves among land mafias and criminal networks in the region.
Properties Acquired Through Illegal Means
Haji Raza Mohammad, a resident of Pani Mohalla in the Sadar Kotwali area, is considered a prominent figure among SP leaders. Over the years, multiple cases, including under stringent gangster-related laws, have been registered against him in Sadar Kotwali. Reports indicate that Raza acquired substantial wealth through illegal activities and got several plots and lands registered in the names of his close aides to conceal ownership.
DM-Ordered Action Under Section 14(1)
The seizure came following a complaint to the DM. Acting on his directive, plots and lands were confiscated under Section 14(1). The operation was supervised by SDM Sadar Archana Tripathi, DSP City, Tehsildar, revenue department officials, and Sadar Kotwal Tarkeshwar Rai.
