Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh: A routine inspection of development projects in Fatehpur turned violent on Wednesday when two rival groups clashed in Sarkandi village. The incident, which left several people injured, prompted swift action by the police, including the suspension of the local Station Officer (SO) and the filing of 43 FIRs against named and unidentified individuals.
The inspection team had arrived in the village to investigate allegations of irregularities in local development work, filed by Ashok Nigam, also known as Guddu, with the district administration.
