
Sikar, Rajasthan: In a tragic road accident on the Reengas-Khatushyamji Road late Sunday night, three young men lost their lives while two others were critically injured. The collision between a Swift car and a passenger vehicle occurred near Lampua village around 2 a.m., highlighting rising concerns over road safety during the harsh winter season in Rajasthan.
According to ASI Sawantaram Gurjar of Reengas Police Station, the driver of the passenger vehicle, Ajay Devenda, a resident of Reengas, died at the scene. Meanwhile, two occupants of the Swift car, Gaurav Saini and Ajay Saini from Suratpura in Dausa district, were seriously injured. Despite receiving medical attention at Sawai Mansingh Hospital, Jaipur, Ajay Saini succumbed to his injuries, bringing the death toll to three.
The Swift car carried four young men, while the passenger vehicle had only the driver. The two surviving victims are undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals. The deceased have been sent for postmortem at separate morgues—one at Khatushyamji Sub-District Hospital and the other at Reengas Sub-District Hospital. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the causes of the collision.
Another Serious Accident in Dausa
On the same day, Dausa district witnessed another severe accident on the Lalsot-Kota Mega Highway near Bagdi toll. A passenger bus collided head-on with a vehicle carrying firewood, leaving seven passengers injured. Among them, Tanu, Anjali, and Kalu were critically wounded and referred to Sawai Mansingh Hospital, Jaipur, for advanced care. The local police cleared the debris and restored traffic flow.
Authorities have urged drivers to exercise extreme caution while driving in freezing conditions, emphasizing road safety as accidents continue to rise in the region.
