Faridabad: Terrorist Muzammil Hid 2,600 Kg Ammonium Nitrate Behind Mosque, Shifted After 12 Days

Faridabad: Investigations into the Delhi blast and the so-called “White Coat Terror” module involving doctors have uncovered two more hideouts linked to Prof. Muzammil Ahmed of Al-Falah University.

Ammonium Nitrate Hidden in Mosque’s Backyard
The NIA, in coordination with Haryana Police, revealed that Muzammil had purchased 2,600 kg of ammonium nitrate and used it to prepare car-borne IEDs. For 12 days, he stored the explosives in a shed behind a mosque adjacent to the university campus, misleading the shed owner by claiming he only needed space to store regular goods.

Shifted Explosives to Cleric’s House
When the owner grew suspicious, Muzammil moved the entire stock to a local cleric’s residence. On 9 November, a joint team of Faridabad and Jammu & Kashmir police recovered the entire stock from the cleric’s home.

Another Hideout in Jamalpur
Additionally, in July, Muzammil rented a three-room house in Khori Jamalpur from former village headman Jumma for ₹8,000 per month, claiming he intended to trade fruits from Kashmir. NIA investigations revealed that this property was also used for bomb-making activities. Muzammil frequently visited this house accompanied by Dr. Shaheen Shahid, whom he initially described as a relative but later admitted in questioning to be his wife. After using the house for three months, he suddenly vacated it.

Source of Chemicals Traced
Further investigations revealed that the chemicals used in the Delhi blast were purchased from B.R. Scientific & Chemicals, located at NIT Nehru Ground, Faridabad. The shop owner, Lal Babu, is a licensed chemical dealer supplying colleges and hospitals. NIA has seized multiple documents from the shop as part of ongoing investigations.

The NIA continues to probe Muzammil’s network, his accomplices, and all logistical channels related to the blast to prevent further terror activities.
