Faridabad Terror Case: Another Hideout of Terrorist Muzammil Unearthed

Faridabad: Investigations by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the Delhi blast terrorist module have revealed another hideout linked to Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a key accused. Muzammil had rented a house in Jamalpur village, Faridabad, from a former village headman for ₹8,000 per month. He used the location to meet with Dr. Shaheen Saeed, with whom he had conducted a religious marriage ceremony at a mosque near Al-Falah University, paying a mehr of ₹5,000–6,000.

The Jamalpur House
Muzammil had told the former sarpanch that he was involved in the apple trade and would store fruits brought from Kashmir. However, the NIA found that he frequently visited the property along with Dr. Shaheen between April and July. It was during this period that Muzammil and his associate Umar were connected to Shaheen, who met them while seeking medical care for her nephew’s cancer treatment.

Funding Terror Plans
Investigators have uncovered that Shaheen played a crucial role in funding Muzammil’s terrorist activities. In 2023, she reportedly lent ₹6.5 lakh to Muzammil for purchasing weapons, and in 2024, she provided ₹3 lakh to Umar for buying a Ford EcoSport vehicle. Altogether, Shaheen is believed to have facilitated ₹27–28 lakh for acquiring arms and explosives for the Jaish module. When questioned, she claimed that the money was given as “zakat” (religious charity).

The NIA continues to probe all connections and financial transactions to fully unravel the operational network of the Delhi blast terrorist module.
