Faridabad: The investigation into the Delhi blast case has intensified, with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) making another crucial arrest from Faridabad. The detained individual, identified as Shoaib, is accused of providing shelter and logistical support to fidayeen attacker Dr. Umar, the mastermind behind the Red Fort car bomb explosion.
Seventh Arrest in the Case
According to the NIA, Shoaib is the seventh person to be arrested in connection with the deadly attack that took place on 10 November outside the Red Fort. The car bomb blast killed several people and left many others injured. Investigators have uncovered evidence suggesting that Shoaib not only offered refuge to Umar before the attack but also facilitated his movement and operational planning.
NIA Tracking the Full Conspiracy
The NIA has already arrested six close associates of Umar under case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI. The agency is actively pursuing leads connected to the suicide bombing and is working to identify every individual involved in the conspiracy. Multi-state search operations are being conducted with the assistance of local police forces in Haryana, Delhi, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Officials stated that the objective is to uncover the entire terror network, trace financial and logistical channels, and determine the support system that enabled the attack.
How Shoaib Came Under the Radar
Earlier, the NIA had brought Dr. Muzammil to Faridabad for investigation. The team visited two rented rooms previously occupied by Dr. Umar and Muzammil and later carried out detailed checks at Al-Falah University, questioning several persons. During this investigation, Shoaib’s role surfaced, leading to his immediate arrest.
Shoaib is a resident of Dhauj village, and officials believe he played a key role in facilitating Umar’s stay and movements prior to the attack.
