Ajmer: A serious case of online impersonation has come to light in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district, where antisocial elements have created a fake WhatsApp account using the photograph of District Collector Lok Bandhu. The account, operated from an international mobile number, appears to be aimed at misleading the public.

Immediate investigation ordered

Upon learning of the fraudulent account, the district administration took the matter seriously and immediately ordered a detailed investigation. The Cyber Cell and other relevant agencies have been directed to identify the source of the account, its purpose, and the contacts made through it.

Risk of fraud and misinformation

Authorities warned that such fake accounts could potentially be used for scamming people, spreading false information, or tarnishing administrative work. Investigators are actively probing the origins of the account and the intentions behind it.

Public advised to exercise caution

The district administration has urged residents to remain vigilant. Messages from foreign or suspicious numbers should not be trusted. Citizens are advised to verify any communication supposedly from the District Collector or senior officials through official channels before responding.

Block and report suspicious numbers
