Fake Liquor Factory Busted in Agra, Four Arrested

Agra, Jan 29, 2026: Agra police have uncovered an illegal factory producing counterfeit English liquor in Akola, under Kagarol police jurisdiction. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the operation, and a large consignment of fake liquor, chemicals, and branded wrappers was seized.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), during a routine night check on Tuesday, Kagarol police stopped a black Scorpio near Lalaoo Pul in Akola. Three men – Naresh, Ummed, and Prashant – were apprehended, along with 74 cases of liquor in their possession.

Following interrogation, the accused led the police to a warehouse at Satyaprakash’s residence, situated near the fields of Akola. They revealed that they mixed chemicals with spirits to produce counterfeit liquor, affixed English brand labels, and sold it at premium prices.

From the warehouse, the police recovered 74 cases of liquor, 50 liters of spirit, 89 empty glass bottles, 62 wrappers of the Imperial Blue brand, and one sack of blue caps bearing the same brand. The accused also disclosed the involvement of a fifth person, Dharmveer from Hodal, Haryana.

Naresh reportedly set up the illegal factory six days ago at Satyaprakash’s house, along with his brother, brother-in-law, and friend Dharmveer. Satyaprakash had even installed an RO plant to process the liquor. For distribution, his two sons were sent to Madhya Pradesh and Bihar to find buyers. At the time of the raid, the accused had reportedly attempted to destroy evidence by setting fire to drums filled with spirit.

Police have registered cases and are investigating the entire network involved in this illicit trade.
