Fake Aadhaar Racket Busted in Aligarh: Two Class 8 Dropouts Arrested

Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh:
Aligarh Police have busted a major fake Aadhaar card and forged certificate racket, arresting two youths who were running the operation despite having studied only up to Class 8. The accused were using a software application named Native.exe to create fake Aadhaar cards and birth–death certificates, charging hefty amounts from unsuspecting people.

The arrested accused have been identified as Vicky Kumar and Tirath, residents of Nagala Banjara Nathpur village under Atroli police station area. Both were operating Jan Seva Kendras (public service centres) in the Atroli region, from where the illegal activities were being carried out.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Jawan police station conducted a raid and arrested the two accused from the town area. During the operation, one of their associates managed to flee and is currently absconding.

During the search, police recovered 18 fake Aadhaar cards, a laptop, fingerprint scanner, printer, biometric devices, and other equipment used in the forgery. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were not only forging Aadhaar cards but also preparing fake birth and death certificates, residence certificates, and income certificates.

SP City Mrigank Shekhar Pathak, while addressing the media, said that a complaint had been received regarding the preparation of fake Aadhaar cards and certificates. Investigation led the police to Vicky and Tirath, following which a raid was conducted and both were arrested.

The SP further revealed that during interrogation, the accused admitted to using the Native.exe application to manipulate online portals for changing names, addresses, and personal details on Aadhaar cards. The forged documents were uploaded online, stamped with the Jan Seva Kendra seal, and handed over to customers in exchange for large sums of money.

Police are now searching for the absconding accomplice and probing whether the racket has links beyond Aligarh. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused under relevant sections, and further investigation is underway.
