Former Madhya Pradesh minister Deepak Joshi tied the knot at the age of 63, marrying 43-year-old former Congress state secretary Pallavi Raj Saxena. The wedding, held on December 4, recently came to public attention when photos and videos were shared on social media, igniting widespread discussion and controversy.
Pallavi Raj Saxena posted pictures and videos of the ceremony, including traditional rituals, outings, and celebrations with family. In one video, she humorously comments on Joshi’s frugality while walking to a temple, saying, “Father, look at your son-in-law; he’s so stingy.” Another clip shows Joshi applying sindoor to Pallavi’s hairline, performing traditional wedding rituals, and participating in dance celebrations with family members. Haldi ceremony pictures were also shared, depicting both bride and groom adorned in ceremonial turmeric paste amidst family presence.
The high-profile marriage has sparked debate because two other women have also come forward claiming to be married to Deepak Joshi. One woman alleged that Joshi was caught in a honey-trap scenario. BJP MLA Manoj Chaudhary has urged authorities to take cognizance of the multiple claims of marriage.
Despite the mounting attention, Deepak Joshi has remained silent on the controversy. He had initially promised a press conference on December 22 to clarify matters but has not responded to calls from journalists. Meanwhile, Pallavi Saxena has stated she is unwell and unable to comment further.
The wedding has made headlines not only for the age of the former minister but also for the surrounding allegations, making it one of the most talked-about personal stories in the state’s political and social circles.
