Ex-BSP Leader Allegedly Beaten and Held Hostage by Supporters of Chandrashekhar Azad in Datia

Datia, Madhya Pradesh: Supporters of Chandrashekhar Azad in Datia reportedly held former BSP leader Lokendra Ahirwar hostage and physically assaulted him. Ahirwar, who has previously contested elections from the Datia Assembly constituency on a BSP ticket, was allegedly targeted due to political rivalry. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Abduction Under the Pretext of a Party:
According to Lokendra Ahirwar, the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 20, when he was allegedly lured under the pretext of attending a party in the Mandi Baroni area. He was taken to a private location where Raja Ahirwar, Thakurdas Ahirwar, Rajdeep Ahirwar, and several others reportedly interrogated him about political differences. When he resisted, he was allegedly held against his will and beaten with sticks and rods for approximately four hours, leaving him with serious injuries.

Forced to Chant Slogans and Threatened:
The victims allege that the attackers forced him to chant slogans in favor of Chandrashekhar Azad and against BSP leader Mayawati. They reportedly threatened him with weapons, coerced him into recording a video, demanded money, and threatened to circulate the footage on social media. The assailants later uploaded the video from Ahirwar’s own phone. Ahirwar’s father, Beniprasad Ahirwar, and another individual arrived at the scene, prompting the attackers to flee. The perpetrators also allegedly warned them against filing a police complaint.

Political Background and Escalating Rivalry:
Ahirwar, who contested the 2023 Datia Assembly elections on a BSP ticket, was removed from the position of district president after losing the election. Following this, he began posting critical comments against BSP and Dalit organizations on social media, which reportedly fueled political animosity.

Police Action:
Following a complaint lodged by the victim, police have registered a case. One suspect has been taken into custody while others remain at large. The viral video shows Ahirwar with folded hands pleading, while the assailants appear to be laughing. Authorities have confirmed that the case is being investigated thoroughly, and strict legal action will be taken against those responsible.
