Jaipur, Rajasthan: Following the eruption of the highly active Haily Gubi volcano in Ethiopia’s Afar region on the morning of November 23, authorities across India are on high alert. The eruption, occurring after nearly 10,000 years, has sent ash clouds moving toward northern India, prompting aviation authorities to closely monitor flights, particularly to and from Delhi and Rajasthan.
Flights Under Watch
Several flights in Delhi have already been canceled, with airlines like Akasa and IndiGo halting services to destinations including Jeddah, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi on November 25. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and airport authorities have issued advisories for passengers traveling to northern India.
Jaipur Airport Update
Despite concerns, Jaipur International Airport authorities confirmed to Navbharat Times Online that no flights have been canceled or delayed as of now. All operations are running on schedule, and passengers are advised to stay updated with airline notifications for any changes.
Advisory for Passengers
While Jaipur remains unaffected so far, travelers are advised to monitor flight schedules closely due to potential disruptions from ash clouds drifting from Ethiopia. Airport officials reiterated that safety measures are in place and all precautions are being followed to ensure smooth operations.
