
Nuh, Haryana: In a significant development in an ongoing espionage case, police have arrested Sandeep, a resident of Sangrur district in Punjab, for allegedly spying for Pakistan. This marks the eighth arrest in the case, which involves intelligence gathering and terrorist funding for the Pakistani agency ISI.
Sandeep, also known as Sunny, hails from Hakimpura in Sangrur. The arrest was confirmed by a senior officer of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which has been closely monitoring the case following the earlier arrest of advocate Rizwan from Kharkhari village in Tawar block, Nuh district. Rizwan was reportedly involved in hawala transactions and terror funding operations.
Three-Day Police Remand
The accused was presented before Judge Shavi Goyal at Nuh court on Tuesday and placed under a three-day police remand for further investigation. According to police sources, Sandeep had been taken into custody three days prior for interrogation. Following questioning, he was formally arrested and handed over to the SIT for further inquiry.
This case has so far seen eight individuals arrested, all allegedly linked to espionage activities and terrorist funding networks operating under ISI directives. The police continue to investigate the matter to uncover the full extent of the network and its operations.
