Eight Trains, Including Swarnarekha Express, to Operate from Adityapur Instead of Tatanagar

In a major boost to rail connectivity in the Jamshedpur–Adityapur region, the South Eastern Railway has approved shifting the terminal operations of eight passenger trains from Tatanagar Railway Station to Adityapur Railway Station. An official notification to this effect has been issued by the railway authorities.

The decision fulfills a long-pending demand of local residents and passengers and is expected to significantly enhance the importance of Adityapur station while easing congestion at Tatanagar.

Improved Convenience for Passengers

As per the notification, trains that were earlier originating and terminating at Tatanagar will now begin and end their journeys at Adityapur. This move will provide direct convenience to passengers from Adityapur, Gamharia, and surrounding areas, reducing travel time and overcrowding at Tatanagar station.

List of Trains Shifted to Adityapur Terminal

The trains that will now operate from Adityapur include the Tata–Visakhapatnam Express, Tata–Dhanbad Swarnarekha Express, Tata–Asansol Express, and Tata–Hatia Express, among others—making a total of eight services.

Revised Timetable and Effective Dates

The South Eastern Railway has also released revised arrival and departure timings along with the effective dates. Minor time adjustments of 5 to 10 minutes have been made for some services.

Revised Schedule at Adityapur Station:

• Train No. 13301 Dhanbad–Swarnarekha Express – Arrival at 12:05 pm (Effective February 5)
• Train No. 13302 Swarnarekha–Dhanbad Express – Departure at 3:35 pm (Effective February 5)
• Train No. 68036 Hatia–Tata MEMU – Arrival at 11:35 pm (Effective February 5)
• Train No. 68035 Tata–Hatia MEMU – Departure at 6:35 am (Effective February 5)
• Train No. 13612 Asansol–Tata Express – Arrival at 12:50 pm (Effective February 6)
• Train No. 13611 Tata–Asansol Express – Departure at 1:25 pm (Effective February 6)
• Train No. 20816 Visakhapatnam–Tata Express – Arrival at 6:35 am (Effective March 29)
• Train No. 20815 Tata–Visakhapatnam Express – Departure at 7:30 am (Effective March 30)

Railway authorities have advised passengers to check the revised terminal station, train timings, and reservation details before commencing their journey. Travelers are urged to plan their trips according to the updated schedule to avoid inconvenience.

The move is being widely welcomed as a step toward decentralizing rail traffic and improving passenger amenities in the industrial belt surrounding Jamshedpur.
