Barmer, Rajasthan: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out an extensive raid at a local NGO office and the residence of its director, Adil Khan, in Barmer, raising concerns over foreign funding. The 12-hour-long operation led to the seizure of several crucial documents, and ED officials have begun a detailed investigation.

The raid targeted Mahila Mandal NGO, located in Indira Colony, Barmer Agor. Alongside the office, ED officials also inspected the residence of director Adil Khan. During the operation, personnel from the CRPF were deployed to maintain security. Officials questioned multiple individuals associated with the NGO.

Key Documents Seized During the Operation
The 12-hour-long inspection reportedly yielded significant documents, now in the possession of the ED. Director Adil Khan and his wife were also subjected to extended questioning as part of the investigation. While the ED has not officially disclosed further details, sources suggest the findings could lead to major revelations regarding the NGO’s funding sources.

Investigation Focus on Foreign Contributions
The NGO in question has been operational for over 34 years, working on women empowerment, welfare for differently-abled individuals, and various social development projects. Authorities are particularly focused on large sums of foreign funding flowing into the NGO, prompting the current investigation.

The ongoing probe may reveal irregularities or violations linked to the NGO’s foreign transactions, potentially setting the stage for further regulatory action.
