Dwarka Robbery: Four Arrested for Looting Gold from 86-Year-Old Woman

New Delhi: In a shocking incident in Dwarka’s Bindapur area, Delhi Police have arrested four individuals for allegedly looting gold jewelry from an 86-year-old woman. The accused reportedly entered the elderly woman’s home under the pretext of renting a room. Among those arrested were two women, one young man, and his friend.

All Stolen Jewelry Recovered
Police successfully recovered all the stolen items, including a pair of gold bangles, a pair of gold earrings, and a gold ring. The incident took place on the afternoon of 14 November, when a PCR call reported that two women and two men had forcibly entered the house and snatched the jewelry from the elderly woman.

Investigation Launched
Given the severity of the crime, a special police team was formed, comprising SI Sandeep, HC Neeraj, Constables Ashish, Rajesh Dagar, and Narendra, under the supervision of Bindapur SHO Inspector Naresh Sangwan and ACP Dabri Rajkumar.

CCTV Footage Helps Crack the Case
The police analyzed footage from over 150 CCTV cameras in the area and combined it with technical surveillance and confidential tips. High-resolution analysis led to the identification of one of the female suspects. Police then traced her to her home in Nanda Ram Park, Uttam Nagar, where she was found along with her sister, brother, and friend.

Confession and Modus Operandi
During questioning, the accused admitted that they had noticed the elderly woman wearing significant gold jewelry about ten days prior and had planned to loot her when she was alone. Subsequently, the two women visited her home under the pretext of inspecting a rental room and confirmed that she stayed alone during the day. The actual robbery was carried out collectively on 14 November. Three of the suspects are siblings, while the fourth, Raju, is a friend.

Accused Identified
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ratan Mehto (19), Raju Kumar (27), Anjali (24), and Ranju (20). The police have recovered all the looted jewelry and are continuing further investigation.
