Double-Decker Bus Service to Launch in Delhi: Routes, Fares, and Tourist Highlights

New Delhi: Delhi is set to introduce a new double-decker bus service this month to boost tourism and offer a comfortable sightseeing experience for visitors. The service will connect the city’s major tourist attractions, providing both convenience and a unique way to explore the capital. Officials expect the buses to begin operations in the third week of February.

Bus Capacity and Features
Two electric double-decker buses will initially operate on this route, expected to start around 20th February. Each bus can accommodate 63 passengers and will include a tour guide who will provide insights into the historical and cultural significance of the landmarks. Evening tours are also planned, allowing tourists to enjoy the city after sunset.

Fares
The fare for adults has been set at ₹500, while children aged 6 to 12 years will be charged ₹300. The buses will be decorated with images of Delhi’s prominent tourist sites. The electric buses have been provided by Ashok Leyland under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Tourist Spots Covered

  • Historical Sites: Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Old Fort, Jantar Mantar, Feroz Shah Kotla.
  • Religious Places: Akshardham Temple, Lotus Temple, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Jama Masjid, ISKCON Temple.
  • Landmarks & Monuments: India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, Raj Ghat.

The double-decker bus service promises to offer tourists an immersive and comfortable way to experience Delhi’s rich history, vibrant culture, and architectural marvels in one convenient route.
