DMRC Partners with Bharat Taxi to Ease Last-Mile Connectivity for Metro Commuters

New Delhi: Delhi Metro commuters can now look forward to smoother travel from metro stations to their homes and workplaces, following a landmark agreement between Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Bharat Taxi.

Under the partnership, DMRC has collaborated with Sahakar Taxi Operative Limited to launch an integrated last-mile connectivity service. In the first phase, this service will be available at ten major metro stations across the city.

Metro officials highlighted that reaching one’s home or office from metro stations has long been a challenge for daily commuters. The new arrangement aims to address this gap by providing seamless and convenient transport options from the station to the final destination.

Pilot Project for Bike Taxi Service
As part of the initiative, a pilot project will also introduce bike taxi services at two key stations—Millennium City Center on the Yellow Line and Botanical Garden on the Blue Line—by January 31, 2026. Commuters will be able to book taxis and bikes through both the Bharat Taxi app and DMRC’s Sarathi app.

Transparent Pricing and Real-Time Tracking
The integrated app system will allow users to estimate fares, track vehicles in real-time, and choose options based on their convenience. Fares will be market-driven, with a surge pricing mechanism during peak hours, subject to a cap to protect commuter interests. Officials said the move is expected to reduce waiting times and enhance transparency, making the metro commute more efficient and hassle-free.
