
Hathras, UP: A shocking case of cyber harassment has emerged from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, where a divorced woman has accused her ex-husband of uploading obscene videos of her on Instagram. The victim claims that her ex-husband has caused irreparable harm to her personal life. Following her complaint, the police have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter.
According to reports, the woman hails from a village in the Kotwali Mursan area. She alleges that she married Naresh Kumar in 2017, but the marriage soon turned abusive, both physically and mentally. Unable to bear the mistreatment, she filed for divorce on 16 December 2022 and later remarried.
The woman further stated that her ex-husband’s actions were aimed at ruining her life. He allegedly shared her explicit photos and videos on Instagram and other social media platforms, which quickly went viral. Following this, the victim also faced social ostracism from her in-laws.
Police Response
Mursan police have confirmed that they have registered a case based on the woman’s complaint. Investigations into the allegations are ongoing, and authorities are examining the extent of the content shared and the legal recourse available under cybercrime and harassment laws.
This case highlights the growing concern of cyber harassment and the need for stronger measures to protect victims of online abuse, especially in cases involving intimate content.
