Dindori Collector Anju Pawan Bhadauria Holds Night Chaupal in Tribal Village

Dindori, Madhya Pradesh: In a remarkable initiative to bring the administration closer to the people, Dindori Collector Anju Pawan Bhadauria conducted a night chaupal (public meeting) in a tribal village. The meeting saw the participation of local representatives and key officials who directly listened to the concerns of villagers.

Dindori, a district with a predominantly tribal population, often faces challenges where villagers are unable to approach administrative offices in the city with their problems. Recognizing this, Collector Bhadauria has taken the unique step of personally visiting villages at night to hear residents’ grievances.

The recent chaupal was held at Gram Panchayat Karigadhari amidst the chilly night. Villagers shared pressing issues, including water scarcity and irrigation problems. An elderly resident expressed, “We have to walk a kilometer to fetch water and then carry it uphill. It is very difficult for us.”

Collector Bhadauria patiently listened to each resident, inquiring about matters ranging from water supply to anganwadi centers. She also checked whether villagers were receiving ration and availing government schemes. She assured immediate action and solutions for the issues raised.

Addressing the villagers directly, Collector Bhadauria said, “I am Anju Pawan Bhadauria, your Collector. I have been here for just two months. Every Tuesday, public hearings are conducted. If anyone has attended, they would know. Today, I chose your village for a night chaupal so that you can raise all your concerns—from electricity to water supply—directly in front of the concerned officials.”

This proactive approach by Collector Bhadauria has set a benchmark in administrative outreach, ensuring that even remote tribal communities have their voices heard and problems addressed efficiently.
