Lucknow: Dimple Yadav, the Samajwadi Party MP from Mainpuri and wife of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, celebrated her 48th birthday on 15 January. Social media platforms have been flooded with birthday wishes for her. Known for carrying forward the political legacy of her father-in-law, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Dimple Yadav represents the Mainpuri constituency, a seat repeatedly contested and won by Mulayam Singh Yadav.
According to her affidavit filed during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Dimple Yadav’s total declared assets stand at approximately ₹15.50 crore. Interestingly, she does not own a car but has a penchant for gold and diamond jewelry. In December 2022, during the Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election, her affidavit showed assets totaling ₹14.32 crore. This indicates a growth of ₹1.18 crore in her wealth over a period of 17 months.
Over 2.7 kg of Gold
The affidavit also reveals that Dimple Yadav holds cash worth ₹5,72,447, gold jewelry weighing over 2.774 kilograms, and diamonds totaling 127.75 carats, valued at around ₹60 lakh. Additionally, she owns 203 grams of pearls, a computer worth ₹1.25 lakh, and crockery valued at ₹1.6 lakh.
Dimple Yadav has liabilities exceeding ₹74.44 lakh but has no criminal cases pending against her. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, when she contested from Kannauj, her affidavit reported movable assets of ₹3.68 crore and immovable assets of ₹9.30 crore, totaling approximately ₹13 crore.
