Did a Family Feud Trigger the Murder of Lucknow Businessman Manavendra Singh? Son Accused

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: The shocking murder of businessman Manavendra Singh in Bangla Bazaar, Ashiyana, has left the local community reeling. While his son Akshat claims the killing was due to pressure from NEET exam preparation, neighbors and close relatives suggest a different motive—personal and familial conflicts.

Possible Personal Dispute
According to locals, Manavendra Singh may have been involved with another woman. Akshat reportedly had frequent arguments with his father over this issue. Two days before the murder, Manavendra and his business partner were returning by car when the woman called him, leading to an argument between the father and the woman. Neighbors say the woman, who runs a pathology business, used to visit the Singh household often, which fueled tensions between father and son.

Family History of Strain
Akshat has long-standing grievances against his father. In 2017, Akshat’s mother took her own life following family disputes, a tragedy for which Akshat holds his father responsible. The father-son relationship reportedly fractured almost immediately after the mother’s death, nine years ago.

Established Businessman
Manavendra Singh had been running his business in Lucknow for 25 years. After his wife’s death, he lived with Akshat, 21, and his daughter Kriti, 17, while his elderly parents remained in their native village Udotpura in Jalaun. His younger brother, SS Rajawat, serves in the UP Police. Locals are in shock over Akshat’s actions.

Grisly Crime Details
Police investigation revealed that Akshat had ordered two knives online prior to the murder. He personally purchased a saw and drum from the market. After shooting his father in the head, he dismembered the body—cutting off limbs with the saw and knives—and packed the flesh into a sack, which he later dumped near a canal in Sadaruna and set ablaze. Authorities recovered partially burnt clothes and ashes from the site.

Confession to Police
During interrogation, Akshat admitted to shooting his father at close range. His sister Kriti, who woke up hearing the gunshot, was threatened into silence. He then moved his father’s body to the bathroom, where he carried out the gruesome dismemberment before transporting the remains to dispose of them.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining both the familial and personal angles that may have motivated this chilling crime.
