Dholpur Patwari Caught Taking ₹50,000 Bribe in ACB Trap

Dholpur, Rajasthan: In a major anti-corruption operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Patwari Virendra Sharma red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹50,000. The arrest comes under the state government’s strict “Zero Tolerance” policy against corruption, spearheaded by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.

Bribe Linked to Land Name Transfer

The incident revolves around a land name transfer case. A local farmer approached Sharma to get his rightful land transfer processed. Instead of performing his duties, the patwari demanded a hefty bribe. Refusing to comply, the farmer reported the matter to the ACB headquarters, triggering a well-coordinated sting operation.

ACB’s Precise Trap

Under the supervision of DIG Dr. Rameshwar Singh and led on-site by DSP Gyan Chand Meena, the ACB formed a special team to verify the complaint secretly. Once confirmed, the team set up a trap. On Tuesday, as the farmer handed over ₹50,000 to Sharma, plainclothes ACB officers surrounded him instantly, leaving no chance to escape. The patwari was caught on the spot with the bribe money in hand.

Raid on Residences and Revenue Department Stir

The arrest sent shockwaves through the Dholpur Revenue Department, causing panic among employees, some of whom reportedly left their offices. ACB teams are now conducting searches at Sharma’s residence and other suspected locations to uncover deeper links to corruption.

A Strong Message Against Corruption

The ACB emphasized that government officials exploiting their positions for personal gain will face strict consequences. Citizens have been urged to report any instance of bribery or misconduct without fear, reinforcing the state’s commitment to eradicating corruption.
