Dhirendra Shastri’s ‘Overcoat Look’ Steals the Show During Midnight Parikrama in Chitrakoot

Satna/Chitrakoot: The spiritual town of Chitrakoot witnessed a devotional spectacle late Thursday night when Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, head of Bageshwardham, made a surprise visit. Braving the biting cold, Shastri performed darshan of Lord Kamtanath and then embarked on the Panchkoshi Parikrama of Kamdagiri Hill, drawing hundreds of devotees behind him. His unique overcoat-style attire, chosen to shield against the winter chill, became an instant visual highlight.

Devotees Line Up to Welcome Him

As word spread that Shastri was undertaking the parikrama, hundreds of devotees joined in, chanting “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bageshwar Dham Ki Jai” along the route. Residents came out of their homes holding flowers, showering him with petals as he passed by. In the local markets along the parikrama path, children presented hand-drawn sketches of Shastri, which brought smiles and blessings from the spiritual leader himself.

Deep Connection with Gurudham

Pandit Shastri maintains a long-standing spiritual bond with Chitrakoot, which is considered his gurudham. His guru, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Ji, resides here, making this sacred place especially significant to him. Shastri had recently attended the birth anniversary celebrations of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Maharaj in Jaipur, and returned directly to Chitrakoot via air to continue his spiritual engagements.

Next Destination: Banda

After resting overnight in Chitrakoot, Shastri is scheduled to travel to Banda, Uttar Pradesh, to participate in the Hanumant Katha. The local administration had also ensured tight security during the midnight parikrama to manage the crowd and maintain order.
