Devband: 14-Year-Old Mayank Stabbed to Death, Body Found on Railway Tracks; Family Alleges Love Affair Dispute

In Meghrajpur village of Devband, the lifeless body of 14-year-old ninth-grade student Mayank, from a Scheduled Caste family, was discovered on the railway tracks just 300 meters from his home. His family has accused five villagers of involvement in the brutal killing.

Stabbed and Left on Tracks
According to the police, Mayank was allegedly attacked late Wednesday night after receiving a phone call that lured him outside his home. Family members said that as soon as he stepped out, a group of individuals lying in wait assaulted him. When his cries were heard, the family rushed outside, but Mayank was nowhere to be found.

His body was later discovered on the railway tracks near his home. The postmortem revealed deep stab wounds on his abdomen and severe injuries to his head, indicating a deliberate murder. Authorities believe the attackers placed the body on the tracks to create the appearance of an accident or suicide.

Family Alleges Motive Linked to Love Affair
Local reports suggest that Mayank was involved in a romantic relationship with a teenage girl from his own community. The family suspects that this relationship may have sparked a dispute that ultimately led to his murder.

Five Individuals Named in FIR
Following the incident, Saharanpur SP Dehat Sagar Jain and CO Devband Abhishek Singh inspected the crime scene. Mayank’s father, Rupchand, filed a formal complaint naming five villagers: Ravi Kumar, his wife Sanjo, their son Nikhil Kumar, their minor daughter, and another youth, Shakti. The complaint alleges that the group conspired to kill Mayank and disposed of his body on the railway tracks to destroy evidence.

Police have registered a case against all five accused and launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
