Despite Electoral ‘Zero’, Prashant Kishor Launches Major Overhaul in Jan Suraaj; Announces Fast-Track Action Plan

Patna: Political strategist-turned-leader Prashant Kishor (PK) may have been “out for zero” in the Bihar Assembly elections, but he has clearly not left the political मैदान. After his party Jan Suraaj failed to win a single seat despite contesting independently across the state, Kishor has now decided to undertake a major organisational restructuring, termed by insiders as a “big surgery” within the party.

Facing internal unrest, leadership questions, and an exodus of prominent faces after the electoral setback, Prashant Kishor has chosen to return directly to the ground, aiming to rebuild the party from the grassroots level.

PK to Begin Stormy Bihar Tour from February 8

Prashant Kishor will start an intensive state-wide tour from February 8, beginning from the historic region of West Champaran. The first phase of his programme has been scheduled from February 8 to February 13.

The tour is being seen not only as a survival effort for Jan Suraaj, but also as a strategic move to correct organisational mistakes made during the 2025 elections and build a new party structure.

First Phase Schedule

According to the party’s official plan, PK will cover key districts in the first phase:

| Date | Location |
| February 8 | Bagaha |
| February 9 | Bettiah |
| February 10 | Motihari (East Champaran) |
| February 11 | Darbhanga |
| February 12 | Muzaffarpur |
| February 13 | Vaishali |

‘Quick Action Model’: New District Units Within 3 Days

The most striking feature of Kishor’s strategy is the speed of implementation. As per the official letter issued by the party, in every district where Prashant Kishor holds a meeting, a new organisational structure will be announced within three days at the district headquarters.

This restructuring will take place in the presence of the state president and senior party leaders, ensuring immediate appointments and filling vacant posts without delay.

The party has described this as a “Quick Action Model”, aimed at identifying active grassroots workers and handing them responsibilities to revive the party’s strength.

‘New Construction’ Drive to Stop Internal Rift

After the election defeat, Jan Suraaj faced serious internal instability. Many leaders reportedly began distancing themselves from the party, raising doubts about its future.

To control this post-election turmoil, Prashant Kishor has decided to personally connect with district units, hold direct interactions with party workers, and rebuild confidence among loyal supporters.

Party sources claim the tour is meant to send a strong message to those leaders who abandoned the party after defeat, while simultaneously energising committed workers for the next political battle.

Rebuilding Jan Suraaj from the Ground Up

The tour’s core agenda is being described as “empowerment and reorganisation,” with Kishor focusing on grassroots mobilisation, strengthening district-level leadership, and ensuring a stronger organisational base ahead of future elections.

Political observers believe that PK’s upcoming campaign could determine whether Jan Suraaj survives as a long-term political force in Bihar or fades away after its first major electoral test.
