Deputy CM Effect”: Police Clamp Down on Illegal Businesses in Banka, Assets Poised for Seizure

Banka, Bihar – Following the formation of the new government in Bihar and strict directives from Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, police across the state have begun a stringent crackdown on crime and illegal businesses. In line with this drive, authorities in Banka district have intensified action against mafia elements involved in illegal sand mining, liquor trade, and other criminal activities, amassing substantial wealth through illicit means.

Action Initiated Against 16 Mafia Members

SP Upendra Nath Verma stated that there will be zero tolerance for criminals in the district. Sixteen individuals engaged in long-standing illegal activities have been identified, and departmental action has been initiated against them. Charges have already been filed in court against four of these individuals, while action against the remaining twelve is in the final stages.

Asset Seizure Under BNSS Section 107

The SP confirmed that properties accumulated through criminal activities will be seized under Section 107 of the BNSS Act. Police teams are currently scrutinizing all movable and immovable assets of the identified criminals. Notorious figures from various police jurisdictions, including Baunsi, Panjwara, Amarpur, Shambhuganj, Phulledumar, and Banka, have been named in the investigation.

Prominent names include Prabhas Yadav of Kushmaha, Anil Yadav of Ramkol, Chhotu aka Akash Kumar, Chandan Choudhary of Bharko, Bajrangi Yadav of Koidha, Tinku Pratap Chauhan of Daka Mirzapur, Sagar Rajak of Belsira, Golden Kumar of Mohanpur, Chandan Kumar of Khemichak Dharani, and Azad Yadav and Badal Yadav of Majlispur. They are all accused of earning wealth through illegal sand mining, liquor trafficking, and other unlawful means.

No Leniency for Illicit Wealth Accumulation

SP Verma emphasized that individuals who have amassed crores through illegal activities will not be spared. Over a dozen mafia members involved in illicit sand and liquor trade have been identified, with several cases already submitted to the courts and the remainder under active investigation.

He added that, in line with the new government’s policy, law and order in the district is being enforced strictly, and continuous surveillance has been intensified over those involved in illegal activities.
