
Balrampur, Chhattisgarh: The District Education Officer (DEO) has taken strict action against an assistant teacher for negligence in Special Intensive Revision (SIR) duties. The assistant teacher has been suspended with immediate effect, sparking widespread attention across the district.

As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) work in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, BLOs were instructed to perform their duties meticulously. However, Assistant Teacher Ashok Kumar Yadav reportedly displayed a lack of interest and failed to perform the assigned tasks responsibly at Polling Station No. 237, Fatehpur.
Following multiple complaints regarding his negligence, the District Education Officer conducted an inquiry. The investigation confirmed that Ashok Kumar had been absent from duty without prior permission and had not cooperated with the Election Commission’s work. Based on these findings, the DEO issued an immediate suspension order.
During the suspension period, Ashok Kumar has been assigned to the office of the Block Education Officer, Balrampur, and will continue to receive allowances as per regulations. The DEO emphasized that strict adherence to duties is essential to ensure smooth electoral and administrative processes and warned other staff against similar lapses.
The decision has created a buzz among local educators and officials, highlighting the department’s commitment to accountability and discipline in public service.
