Deoria: Sanjeev Suman, Superintendent of Police in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, is once again in the spotlight following a statement that has gone viral on social media. In a video clip, SP Suman referenced popular films like KGF and Pushpa while issuing a stern warning to criminals and anti-social elements.

SP Suman said that if he or his police team ever encountered miscreants like the heroes of Pushpa, they would be dealt with firmly, even beaten with batons if necessary. He criticized how media glorifies villains, noting that characters like “Rocky Bhai” from KGF or other negative film characters are portrayed as heroes. According to him, this trend has influenced youth, making anti-social behavior appear glamorous, as cinema increasingly showcases negative traits as heroic.

Speaking at the 56th Shri Maninath Brahm Jayanti celebration at Maninath Intermediate College, SP Suman emphasized that cinema is not real life. He warned that portraying rebellious or criminal behavior as desirable in films can leave a negative impression on children and young adults. He urged students and the public to focus on education, spiritual growth, and personal development instead of imitating cinematic characters.

Background of SP Sanjeev Suman
Sanjeev Suman hails from Khagaria, Bihar, and comes from a modest family. He cleared the UPSC with hard work and became an IPS officer of the 2014 batch. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Roorkee. His first posting as ASP was in Baghpat in 2016, followed by assignments in Kanpur West, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Aligarh. SP Suman gained public attention in Aligarh for his fair handling of a mob lynching case and for taking strict action during Hindu Mahasabha demonstrations, earning a reputation as a firm and impartial police officer.
