Delhi Traffic Advisory: Avoid Key Areas on Friday for Shaheed Diwas Observances

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have issued a special traffic advisory for Friday, January 30, on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas. Authorities have announced that Raj Ghat and surrounding areas will witness heavy crowds due to official commemorative events. Commuters are advised to avoid affected roads from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and opt for public transportation wherever possible.

Officials have warned that vehicles attempting to navigate the congested routes may face delays, and patients traveling to hospitals should plan alternative routes. Parking is permitted only at designated areas, and roadside or unauthorized parking should be strictly avoided. Citizens are urged to report any suspicious objects or individuals to 112. Commuters are also advised to plan their journeys in advance and stay updated through official Delhi Traffic Police channels.

Previous Road Closures on January 29
On January 29, during the Beating Retreat ceremony, several key routes were fully or partially closed to traffic. Vijay Chowk was completely restricted, while other affected stretches included Rafi Marg (between Sunheri Masjid and Krishi Bhavan), Raisina Road (from Krishi Bhavan to Vijay Chowk), Dara Shikoh Road, Krishna Menon Marg, and portions of the route from Sunheri Masjid to Vijay Chowk. Additionally, Kartavyapath between Vijay Chowk and ‘C’ Hexagon remained off-limits to vehicles.

Authorities urge all residents and visitors to adhere to the advisory and exercise patience while traveling on Shaheed Diwas.
