Delhi: Three Minors Arrested for Gangrape of Six-Year-Old Girl

New Delhi: A horrifying case has emerged from Bhajanpura, North-East Delhi, where a six-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by three minors. The accused, aged 13, 14, and 15, have been taken into police custody. The girl’s family filed a complaint on January 18, which led to prompt action by the Delhi Police.

All three accused live in the same neighborhood. The victim’s mother said that one of the boys’ mothers handed her son over to the police after seeing the girl’s condition. She demanded strict punishment for all the offenders. Local residents have protested over the past four days, accusing authorities of delayed investigation.

Police Investigation
According to senior police officer Ashish Mishra, the three minors were reportedly employed at a local factory. They have been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). Another officer stated that the minors have been presented before the Juvenile Justice Board, and CCTV footage from the area is under review. The six-year-old has undergone medical examination, her statement has been recorded, and she is receiving counseling and care.

Mother’s Account of the Ordeal
The girl’s mother recounted that her daughter returned home distressed and covered in blood. Initially, the child claimed she had fallen, but upon further questioning, she revealed the assault. The mother said that the three boys had taken her daughter to the roof of a building to commit the crime. She immediately took her child to this.
