Delhi Residents Can Access 75 Government Services Nearby for Just ₹30

New Delhi: The Delhi government is set to roll out e-District services across all areas of the capital through Common Service Centers (CSCs). Residents availing these services will need to pay an additional fee of just ₹30 per application. So far, 68 services from various government departments have been integrated into the system, and the plan is to expand this to a total of 75 services, with testing ongoing for the remaining services.

Plan to Expand CSC Services Across the Capital
The initiative aims to make government services accessible to residents who may not be familiar with digital applications for certificates, government schemes, or other official documents. The new CSC-based system is considered an alternative to the previous government’s doorstep delivery program.

How the System Works
Under the new arrangement, Delhi residents can visit nearby CSC centers to access a range of public services and certificates without visiting multiple department counters. The CSC staff will submit applications online on behalf of residents, who can then receive the processed documents through the e-District portal, and in the future, even via WhatsApp.

Services available under this system include marriage registration, caste, residence, income, OBC/SC/ST certificates from the Revenue Department, as well as applications for driving licenses from the Transport Department. The move is expected to reduce crowding at government offices, ensure greater transparency, and simplify the application process.

Why the Shift from Doorstep Delivery?
The CSC model replaces the doorstep delivery service, which charged ₹50 per application. The new system reduces the cost to ₹30 while offering convenient access close to residents’ homes. The government has highlighted that this approach will be more cost-effective, safer for applicants, and easier for follow-ups, benefiting both residents and administrative efficiency.
