Delhi Police Woman Commando Dies After Husband Brutally Attacks Her with Dumbbell

In a shocking incident, Delhi Police Special Cell commando Kajal passed away on Tuesday morning at a private hospital in Ghaziabad. Kajal had been critically injured days earlier when her husband, Ankur Chaudhary, allegedly attacked her with an iron dumbbell, repeatedly striking her head against a door frame, leaving her with severe head injuries.

The tragic assault occurred at their residence in Dwarka Mor, South-West Delhi. Kajal was initially admitted to a private hospital near Dwarka, where doctors declared her brain dead. On January 25, she was shifted to another private hospital in Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad, where she succumbed to her injuries around 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

Family Reveals Disturbing Details

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Kajal’s brother, Nikhil, revealed chilling details. On the night of January 10, Ankur reportedly called Nikhil, claiming that Kajal was fighting with him. When Kajal attempted to speak on the phone, Ankur allegedly snatched the phone, instructing Nikhil to record the conversation as he intended to kill her. Nikhil later heard his sister’s screams before the call was abruptly cut.

Minutes later, Ankur called again, confessing that he had attacked Kajal and told Nikhil to come to Delhi to receive her body. Upon arrival, Kajal was immediately admitted to the hospital, where she was declared brain dead.

Allegations of Dowry Pressure

Kajal’s family has alleged that Ankur had been pressuring her for money and a car as dowry. The couple had married in November 2023 and had a one-and-a-half-year-old son.

Following the attack, the police had initially registered a case of attempted murder and arrested Ankur Chaudhary, who was sent to judicial custody. With Kajal’s death, the case has now been upgraded to a murder investigation.

Delhi Police Special Commissioner (Law & Order), Zone-2 Madhup Tiwari, confirmed, “The accused husband was arrested on the night of the incident under attempted murder charges. With the victim’s death, the case has been reclassified as murder.”

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves across the police force and the community, raising serious concerns over domestic violence even among law enforcement personnel.
