Delhi Police Foils Terror Plot: Two Arrested for Writing ‘Khalistan Zindabad’ Slogans

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested two alleged Khalistani supporters for attempting to create unrest in the capital by writing pro-Khalistan slogans prior to Republic Day. The suspects were reportedly acting under instructions from an associate of Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, founder of the banned organization Sikh For Justice (SFJ).

Details of the Case

According to police, the accused, identified as Baljinder and Rohit alias Keerath, wrote slogans such as “Pro-Khalistan” and “Khalistan Zindabad” at two separate locations in Delhi. The plot, allegedly orchestrated from Canada by Pannu, aimed to incite tension and disturb law and order in the city ahead of the national celebrations. The duo were reportedly offered ₹2 lakh to carry out the act.

Investigations revealed that Baljinder works as an ambulance driver in Delhi, while Rohit is his close associate. The Delhi Police suspect that more associates of Pannu may be involved in this network and are actively tracing them.

Legal Action

On 23 January, Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Gurpatwant Singh Pannu under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including provisions relating to criminal conspiracy, threats to India’s sovereignty, and acts endangering national security.

The arrests come after a social media video circulated showing Pannu allegedly threatening Delhi around Republic Day, claiming that sleeper cells had placed pro-Khalistan posters in areas like Rohini and Dabri.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police is continuing interrogation to dismantle the entire network and prevent any future attempts to disturb public order.
