
In a tragic incident in Delhi, a Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), identified as Ravinder, allegedly consumed a poisonous substance at his residence on Wednesday. Despite being rushed to a hospital in Kharkhoda, Sonipat district, by his family, doctors declared him dead. Ravinder, who joined Delhi Police in 1998, served for nearly 28 years. He is survived by his mother, wife, a daughter, and a son.
Officials stated that ASI Ravinder was posted as a duty officer at the District Investigation Unit (DIU) in North Delhi. Preliminary reports suggest that the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday. The police department is providing assistance to the family while completing the necessary legal formalities.
Separate Incident: Worker Dies After Falling from Second Floor in Mandawali, East Delhi
In another unfortunate event, a 43-year-old laborer, Ganesh Kumar, died after slipping and falling from the balcony of a second-floor flat in Mandawali, East Delhi. The incident occurred on 25 January while Kumar, a daily wage laborer from Uttar Pradesh, was working in the apartment.
He sustained severe injuries and was initially taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital before being shifted to a private hospital in Laxmi Nagar. Despite treatment, he succumbed to his injuries on 26 January. Police have informed his family and initiated an investigation. A postmortem has been conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
