Delhi on High Alert as India-AI Impact Summit 2026 Approaches; 10,000 Security Personnel Deployed

New Delhi, February 10, 2026: The national capital is gearing up for the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, an event described as even bigger than the G20 Summit in scale and importance. In preparation, Delhi Police and other security agencies have ramped up measures, deploying thousands of personnel across the city to ensure smooth and secure proceedings.

Massive Security Deployment
According to sources, between 700 and 1,000 officers from each district of Delhi have been assigned to the summit’s security arrangements, totaling around 10,000 security personnel. Traffic management and crowd control will also see an extensive deployment of approximately 5,000 traffic police officers. The city has been divided into 10 traffic zones and 22 sectors for operational coordination.

High-Tech Measures and Guest Access
The summit, scheduled from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam, will host thousands of delegates from 30 countries. High-tech security systems will be in place, including QR-coded passes that must be scanned at entry points for access.

VVIPs and International Leaders
In addition to security, the summit will witness a strong international presence. Notable attendees include Bill Gates (Microsoft), Jensen Huang (NVIDIA), Sundar Pichai (Google), Dario Amodei (Anthropic), Demis Hassabis (Google DeepMind), Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Industries), Nandan Nilekani (Infosys), Jeetu Patel (Cisco), and Shantanu Narayen (Adobe) among others. For their movements, dedicated Advanced Commissioners of Police (ACPs) will coordinate convoys and ensure safety on VVIP routes.

Preparations Across the City
Special arrangements will be made for bilateral meetings at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in Chanakyapuri, with the AI Impact Summit Cell coordinating security and operational measures. All roads and routes are being monitored to ensure seamless access for delegates and minimize disruption to city life.

Delhi is now on high alert, marking one of the largest security deployments in recent years for an international conference in India.
