The incident occurred when a speeding car, allegedly driven by a group of intoxicated youths, rammed into the motorcycle on which the child was riding. Police have seized the vehicle and detained the driver, though they have not yet confirmed whether alcohol was involved.
According to police officials, the deceased child has been identified as Kabir, a resident of Adarsh Apartment, Sector-16, Dwarka. His family has demanded strict punishment for the accused, saying, “Our child lost his life because of their recklessness. The driver should be sentenced to death.”
Crash Site Revealed a Mangled Bike and Car
Dwarka DCP Ankit Singh said that the police received a call about an accident near Kakrola village, behind the Sector-16 power house. When the Dwarka North police team reached the spot, they found a heavily damaged bike and a car at the scene.
Eyewitnesses reported that Kabir was riding pillion with his uncle when the speeding car suddenly hit their bike. Both were thrown off the vehicle and sustained critical injuries. They were rushed to IG Hospital, Dwarka, where doctors declared the child dead on arrival. The injured uncle is currently hospitalized and unable to give a statement.
Driver Caught by Public
After the accident, local residents managed to catch the car driver, identified as Deepak, before he could flee. The enraged crowd reportedly beat him up before handing him over to the police.
A crime investigation team inspected the scene and began collecting evidence, including CCTV footage from the surrounding area, to determine the exact sequence of events.
Police Investigation Underway
The police have registered a case and are verifying whether the occupants of the car were indeed under the influence of alcohol. DCP Singh assured that a fair and strict investigation will be conducted and that those responsible for the death of the child will face the harshest legal consequences.
