Delhi Blast: Inside the ‘Doctor Terror Module’ Uncovered

In a first-of-its-kind revelation, authorities have uncovered a terror network allegedly run by doctors, working in support of militant groups Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. The network came to light following the arrest of Arif in Srinagar, who was caught posting pro-JeM posters.

Doctors Allegedly Running Terror Operations

Investigations revealed that the module was being organized by doctors stationed across India. Following Arif’s arrest, authorities detained Dr. Muzammil Shakeel from Faridabad and Dr. Adil Ahmed from Saharanpur. These individuals were allegedly attempting to set up an operational terror network. Names of the accused surfaced during the probe into the poster incident in Kashmir, uncovering a sleeper cell supported by JeM and Al-Qaeda.

Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Under Scrutiny

Dr. Muzammil, a PCC-certified doctor, had been associated with Al-Falah University in Faridabad for over three years. Police, acting on his leads, recovered a Swift car containing an AK-47-style assault rifle, three magazines, and 83 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, a pistol, two pistol magazines, and two empty shells were seized. Investigators confirmed strong links between Dr. Muzammil and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Dr. Umar: Key Link in Delhi Blast Investigation

Dr. Umar, hailing from Pulwama, Kashmir, played a critical role in tracing all aspects of the Delhi blast. A graduate of Government Medical College, Srinagar, in 2015, he later became a resident doctor before moving to Faridabad in 2023 to join Al-Falah Medical College as an assistant professor. Authorities say Dr. Umar was highly skilled in planting explosives and executing targeted attacks. He was known to work closely with Dr. Adil Ahmed.

Third Suspect Also Arrested

Dr. Adil Ahmed had previously been detained in Srinagar for placing pro-JeM posters. Interrogation revealed further links to Dr. Umar and operations in Saharanpur. On November 6, a joint team raided Saharanpur to arrest Dr. Adil and recovered an AK-47 from a hospital locker in Anantnag based on his directions. Investigators also found that Dr. Muzammil had rented a separate room in Dhaoj village, Faridabad, for clandestine activities.

This unprecedented case highlights the alarming possibility of professionals being recruited into terror networks, posing significant challenges for security agencies.
