
New Delhi: In the early hours of Sunday, a high-speed car crashed into a tree near Narela Industrial Area, leaving one woman dead and five others injured. All occupants of the vehicle were reportedly returning home after attending an event.
Details of the Accident
According to Outer North DCP Hareeshwar Swami, the police received a call at approximately 5:14 AM reporting the accident near Ghoga Crossing on Narela-Bawana Road. On reaching the site, officers found a Haryana-registered Froxx car collided with a roadside tree.
Eyewitness Sanjeev informed the police immediately after witnessing the crash. All occupants were rushed to the hospital, where the woman, identified as Jyoti from Kundli, Sonipat, was declared dead. The other injured are undergoing treatment at Saroj Hospital, Pitampura. They have been identified as Prashant (Kharkhoda, Sonipat), Amit (Mansa Apartment, Narela), a 21-year-old woman from Mansa Apartment, a six-month-old baby, and another unidentified 22-year-old woman.
Cause of the Accident
Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel or lost control due to high speed. Investigations have revealed that all passengers were relatives. The family was returning from an event when the accident occurred. The police have sent the deceased for post-mortem and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
