Delhi Court Sends Al-Falah University Chairman to ED Custody for 13 Days in ₹415 Crore Fraud Case

New Delhi: A Delhi court has remanded Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, Chairman of Al-Falah University, to 13 days of Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody. Siddiqui was arrested just a day earlier, on 18th November, from Jamia Nagar, Delhi.

Details of the Case

The arrest is linked to a ₹415 crore alleged fraud. Authorities claim that Al-Falah University misrepresented its academic credentials to generate more than ₹415 crore. The ED took Siddiqui into custody under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

During investigations, the ED conducted raids at multiple locations associated with the Al-Falah Group, seizing crucial evidence that led to the Chairman’s arrest.

Links to Terror Cases

The Al-Falah University has also come under scrutiny due to its alleged connections with terror activities. Several terrorists apprehended in connection with the Red Fort blast and the Faridabad terror module were reportedly linked to the institution.

Authorities continue to investigate the university’s financial dealings and its potential involvement in other irregularities.
