Delhi: Body of 4-Year-Old Girl Found in Drain; Family Suspects Foul Play

New Delhi: The body of a four-year-old girl, missing for three days, was found in a drain in the Prem Nagar area of Delhi, sparking shock and concern among locals. The girl’s family suspects foul play, though police say there are no visible injuries on the body. Investigators are exploring all possible angles.

According to police, the child went missing on 9 January. A resident of Vidyapati Nagar, Inder Enclave, Phase-II, Kirari, reported that her daughter had disappeared, raising fears of abduction. An FIR was promptly filed, and a thorough investigation was launched immediately. Family members and authorities searched all areas of suspicion, supported by CCTV footage and local intelligence.

Prem Nagar police conducted exhaustive checks with the help of technical surveillance and a sniffer dog squad. Drone cameras were used to inspect drains and water bodies in the vicinity, leaving no stone unturned in the search.

During a detailed search on 12 January, the girl’s drowned body was found in a drain near Dhruv Picket in Vidyapati Nagar. The parents identified the child at the scene. She was immediately taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Mangolpuri, where the body was sent to the mortuary for further legal and forensic procedures.

Police confirmed that no injury marks were found on the body, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of her death. Authorities continue to examine all leads to ensure a thorough probe.
