Delhi Blast: Students Reveal Traits of 3 Doctors Linked to Terror Module at Al-Falah University

Faridabad: The Red Fort blast on November 10 has sent shockwaves across the country, and the investigation is now intensifying at Al-Falah University in Faridabad. The NIA continues to question professors and students about the alleged involvement of three university faculty members in the terror module.

Doctors Under Scrutiny:
Among the suspects is 33-year-old Dr. Umar Un Nabi, who was behind the wheel of the car used in the blast. He served as an Assistant Professor in the university’s Medicine Department. Students describe him as quiet yet highly intelligent.

Two other professors from Al-Falah University are also implicated: 46-year-old Dr. Shaheen Shahid and 35-year-old Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganai. Dr. Shaheen, originally from Lucknow, is known for her conservative views and strict discipline, often advising female students on dress codes such as T-shirts and jeans. Dr. Muzammil, who completed his MBBS from the same university and MD from SKIMS Srinagar, was reportedly very popular among students for his approachable and helpful nature. Students expressed shock that such well-regarded faculty could be involved in a terror plot.

Campus Under Investigation:
The university campus is currently under intense scrutiny. Teams from the NIA, Haryana Police, and Jammu & Kashmir Police are conducting daily interrogations of students and faculty. Several students reported that those closely associated with Dr. Umar or Dr. Muzammil are being specially questioned. Despite the fear, many final-year MBBS students and interns are continuing their studies, as this period is crucial for their careers.

University Cooperation:
Al-Falah Charitable Trust has issued a statement confirming full cooperation with investigators. Officials say all requested documents, including land ownership papers, trust deeds, government approvals, and UGC and National Medical Commission certifications, have been provided.

Missing Professor Raises Concerns:
Meanwhile, another professor, Dr. Nisar-ul-Hassan, is reportedly missing from the campus. Sources indicate that he has been taken into NIA custody for questioning. Dr. Nisar previously served as Assistant Professor at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, but was dismissed in November 2023 over allegations of spreading separatist ideology.

Ongoing Probe:
Authorities are now piecing together the connections among the implicated professors and their networks. Al-Falah University remains under strict surveillance, and investigations continue to unravel the full extent of the alleged terror module.
