Delhi Blast Probe Widens: Al Falah University Under Scanner as Alleged Terror Links, Hidden Relationships and Explosive Trail Emerge

Faridabad/Delhi: The investigation into the Delhi blast case is uncovering shocking layers of radicalisation, personal relationships, and alleged terror networks linked to Al Falah University. Security agencies are closely examining the institution’s staff, students, and their connections with Jammu & Kashmir after the arrest of several suspects.

According to investigators, arrested Kashmiri cleric Irfan Ahmed played a key role in radicalising the main conspirators. Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other security units have intensified scrutiny of the university’s records, faculty profiles, and communication logs.

Three Doctors Under Scanner: Shaheen, Muzammil and Umar

Sources reveal that Dr. Shaheen Shahid was the first to be appointed at Al Falah University around five years ago as the Head of the Department (Medicine).

On her recommendation, approximately three years ago, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a Pulwama native and suspected terror operative, joined the university as a general physician. Later, Dr. Umar Nabi also became part of the staff.

Security agencies suspect that these three may have secretly expanded a sleeper-cell network within the campus and possibly used close associates as sleeper modules.

Phone Records Under Deep Investigation

Authorities have collected hundreds of phone numbers belonging to the university’s staff and officials — including several Kashmiri students. Analysis shows routine communication with J&K numbers, raising concerns about a wider influence or operational chain.

Investigators are also scanning every detail of the suspects’ academic, personal, and professional connections.

Clerics and Local Links Questioned Again

The probe extends beyond university premises. Imamuddin, the cleric of a mosque in Sirohi village, has again been summoned to Delhi for questioning about his alleged contact with Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Shaheen, and Dr. Umar.

Though he was released earlier after preliminary questioning, he is now being interrogated intensively over the past two days. Village panchayat member Shah Hussain confirmed the development.

Explosives Purchased a Year Ago; Logistics Led by Dr. Muzammil

A major breakthrough came when explosives recovered from Dr. Muzammil Shakeel’s rented accommodation matched ammonium nitrate-based material reportedly purchased from Srinagar in September 2024. Investigators have even recovered two bills confirming the sale.

This indicates that preparations for the blast may have begun more than a year ago, with Dr. Muzammil believed to be handling logistics and procurement.

Investigation Reaches Sohna

The Delhi blast probe has now expanded to Sohna. On Tuesday evening, the Ballabhgarh Crime Branch detained two individuals — Maulana Tayyab Hussain and Urdu teacher Farhan, both residents of Nuh district — from Shahi Jama Masjid in Sohna Raipur.

Sources say suspected terrorist Dr. Umar had offered prayers at this mosque, and investigators are verifying whether he interacted with the cleric or the teacher. Police are also probing any prior acquaintance or communication between Umar and Farhan.

Unfolding Secrets Behind Personal Relationships

Investigators are also examining the personal links between the accused. Notably, Dr. Shaheen reportedly facilitated the job of her alleged lover, Dr. Muzammil. Later, Dr. Umar’s entry into the campus added another dimension to the mystery.

Interrogation records suggest these relationships may have influenced recruitment, group formation, and possibly even operational coordination inside the university.

A Deepening Case With Multiple Layers

Authorities have not released an official statement regarding the latest detentions, but insiders confirm that every thread — academic, personal, regional, and religious — is being examined meticulously.
