Daylight Heist in Shastri Park: ₹80 Lakh Looted, Police Still Hunt Suspects

New Delhi: In a shocking daylight robbery, criminals made off with ₹80 lakh in the Shastri Park area of Northeast Delhi, leaving authorities scrambling for leads. The perpetrators reportedly carried out the heist at gunpoint, and police have yet to trace them.

According to officials, police teams are meticulously investigating the suspects’ entry and exit routes, deploying multiple units across the area. Authorities claim that the culprits are likely to be apprehended soon.

How the Robbery Unfolded
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon around 3:30 PM, when the Shastri Park police received a distress call about a robbery in progress. On arrival, officers learned from two employees of a money transfer company that three assailants on a motorcycle stopped their scooter at gunpoint. The robbers fired shots, seized the cash bag, and fled the scene.

One of the victims was injured and taken to hospital, but was discharged after treatment. The victims, identified as Shahid and his assistant Akil, were transporting ₹80 lakh in a cash bag. Shahid told police that he was carrying the money from Sadar Bazaar to Gurugram via the Delhi-Saharanpur highway when the robbers struck near the Shastri Park flyover. Shahid operates a money transfer business in New Usmanpur, with Akil assisting him in his work.

Police have registered a case and are continuing a manhunt for the suspects.
