Ajmer, Rajasthan: In a shocking case that shook the city, the SC-ST Court in Ajmer on Friday sentenced Ragini Dubey to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of her father, Ashok Dubey, in 2020. Six years ago, the 31-year-old woman killed her 62-year-old father during a domestic altercation, later sending a photograph of his bloodied body to her elder sister via WhatsApp.
The Night of Horror
The incident took place on 3 February 2020 in Vigyan Nagar, Adarsh Nagar. Following a heated argument with her father, Ragini allegedly attacked him in a blind rage, inflicting 19 serious injuries, leading to his immediate death at the scene.
Chilling Actions After the Crime
Ragini reportedly dragged her father’s bloodied body outside and cleaned the room afterward. She then messaged her elder sister, Yamini, claiming, “Papa had a fight, got hurt badly, he lost consciousness. I took him outside and cleaned the room.” When Yamini arrived, she found the body lying on the street, while Ragini was reportedly sleeping peacefully inside.
Scientific Evidence Led to Conviction
Special Public Prosecutor Pankaj Jain stated that traces of blood on the walls and, crucially, on Ragini’s pants matched the victim’s blood group, as confirmed by the FSL report. Based on these findings, the court found Ragini guilty of murder and handed down a life sentence, sending a strong message about the sanctity of familial bonds and the consequences of such heinous crimes.
